Parents' Society
SHFGS Parents’ Society is an active and vital part of life at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School. Membership consists of parents and carers of children attending the school and a staff representative. Our current committee Chair is parent, Nigel Hargreaves.
Our aim is to foster a community spirit and generate additional money through organising fundraising initiatives which can purchase items and activities not covered by the school budget.
The SHFGS Parents’ Society has funded a broad range of items over the years that continually benefit all students and interests, such as iPads and Chromebooks (complete with charging trolley for IT); music and drama equipment including electric pianos, video cameras and sound desks; sports investments such as spinning bikes and a climbing wall; contribution to the refurbishment of The Box Café and the library.
This is all possible based on the financial donations and time given by parents interested in being part of their child’s journey and development at Sir Henry Floyd.

How to support the Parents' Society - Giving your time
New members are always very welcome. You can help with running the bar and selling refreshments at school events, overseeing raffle prize donations and bringing new ideas for raising money. If you are interested in joining as a volunteer, a committee member or even one of the charity trustee roles (E.g.: treasurer), please contact us at parentssociety@sirhenryfloyd.co.uk. It's great fun, sociable and the commitment is much less than you think.
School Lottery
Tickets cost just £1 per week which are entered into a draw with a guaranteed winner from within our school community every week. The more people that participate, the bigger this guaranteed prize becomes, and the more money raised for our school. For much less than the cost of a cup of coffee every week, and from the comfort of your own sofa, you could be a lucky winner! On top of the weekly prize from the SHFGS lottery pot, you will also be entered into a separate draw with a chance to win an amazing £25,000 EVERY WEEK!
