As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of all our children, Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School is a proud participant in Operation Encompass.
Operation Encompass is a nationwide partnership between the police and education settings. If a child has been present at, involved in, or exposed to a domestic abuse incident, the police will confidentially notify our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) before the start of the next school day.
Why is this important? Receiving these notifications ensures we can fulfill our primary safeguarding responsibility: to offer immediate help and support. It allows our trained staff to provide a quiet, understanding, and safe environment for the child from the moment they arrive, tailored to their specific needs that day.
Our goal is never to judge, but to ensure that both the child and their family receive the care and support they need during difficult times.
